He pauses, slowly opens his hand and throws them to the ground. Steep mountain ranges, plunging gorges and vast deserts came into existence. And so Afghanistan was created. A Handful of Afghanistan is a documentary about a country where war and peace are melted into one. For thousands of pilgrims the trip to a New Year celebration in the city of Mazar-I Sharif, at the high mountain passes of Hindokush, becomes an epic battle with Nature. But in Afghanistan that is just the beginning.
